MONDAY
Wild animals and perfect views
Different landscapes up close: river, lake, moor & mountain. Presentation of the excursion programme in selected accommodation facilities in the region by the outdoor experts from “Highlife” with Gerald Sagmeister.

TUESDAY
Sablatnig moor – the wilderness around the corner
Discovery tour with shuttle service to Lake Turnersee including Karawanken panoramic view and a trip to the realm of the moor frog and the grey heron at the mysterious Sablatnig moor. Early in the morning there is a guided tour with Thomas Schneditz, wildlife expert based in the old Tomar cottage. Swirling fogs, the silence in the morning and the soft light of the morning sun are the ingredients for an exceptional start to the day. After a two hour stalk through the moor, breakfast will be served in the Kordesch farmhouse pub, including farmhouse specialities from the region such as the typical Jauntal Valley salami.

WEDNESDAY
Southern Alps Panorama Trail – boundless hiking fun
Hikers’ shuttle to Bad Eisenkappel, then change to the hikers’ taxi that runs along the Paulitsch saddle panorama road and the Slovenian border as far as Gasthof Rogar inn. Guided summit tour of medium di. culty along the new Southern Alps Panorama Trail, past the Potocnik cave up to the Uschowa, Southern Carinthia’s vantage mountain. Summit experience and return to the Rogar inn where lunch will be served. Choose between 2 typical meals: veal ragout with buckwheat polenta or vegetable and meat stew with bread; dessert included. Return by hikers’ taxi to Bad Eisenkappel and by hikers’ shuttle to St. Kanzian.

THURSDAY
Wild birds and peaceful wetlands – boat trip on the Drau reservoir
Transfer from the tourist centre to the Tainach boat jetty and trip aboard the MS Magdalena to the Neudenstein European nature reserve. From there, there is a guided birdwatching tour with Ulrike Knely along the Völkermarkt Drau reservoir to undiscovered observation points for aquatic and wild animals. Then return aboard the MS Magdalena on the Drau reservoir including cold lunch buffet with Carinthian delicacies. Return transfer to the tourist centre.

FRIDAY
E-bike tour to the ‘Balcony of the Southern Alps’ on the Luschaalm
Hikers’ shuttle to Bad Eisenkappel. There participants are given their E-bikes. Guided E-bike cycle tour of medium di. culty, about 1.5 hours via Leppen – home of the Bachmann laureate Maja Haderlap – as far as the Riepl mountain inn on the Luscha. There you are free to do what you like – either a short hike to the Luschaalm alpine pasture (approx. 40 minutes) or use of the 3D archery centre (for a fee). Lunch at the Riepl inn. Choose from homemade Carinthian pasta pockets with curd cheese, dried pear or meat fi lling with salad, or pljeskavice meat patties with sheep’s cheese filling served with vegetable rice and a slice of polenta. Then return by E-bike to Bad Eisenkappel and take the hikers’ shuttle to St. Kanzian.
