Globasnitz is situated on an ancient settlement. Mount Hemmaberg, as well as the Rosalia Grotto, are well-known cultural places. Further points of attraction are Elberstein Castle and the Pilgrim Museum. One of the greatest traditional events in Carinthia - the Farant Festival - takes place in August.
