A very special kind of cycling experience: with expert guidance, regular tours are organised through the mountain and at the same time from one country to another.
As well as a bike, participants are given a miner’s helmet and a pit lamp just like those worn some years ago by the miners working in the mining gallery. Equipped with their “mine biking kit” they set off into the mountain.
There is no need for claustrophobia as you pedal through the narrow shaft at a temperature of around ten degrees Celsius and 95 percent humidity. You get your reward amongst other things with the view of the breathtaking rock formations in the almost 30 (!) metres high mountain caverns. Despite the relatively short distance of around seven kilometres, the trip takes more than 2 hours. Guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience for all the “lads”.
