The Lake Klopeiner See – Southern Carinthia region with its 1,246 kilometre network of signposted trails is a unique Eldorado.
Whether you’re looking for a strenuous mountain bike tour or undemanding 3-lake tour, every cyclist will find their ideal tour in the Lake Klopeiner See – Southern Carinthia region.
You don't need to be a cycling ace to pedal happily around the Lake Klopeiner See – Southern Carinthia holiday region – but if you have calf muscles of steel you can benefit even more intensively from the range of cross-border trails in the south of Carinthia.
Pleasure cyclists will find 273 kilometres of car-free themed cycle trails in the holiday region, plus a roughly 60 kilometre long section of the Drau cycle trail through a charming landscape. The route passes the Santa Lucia suspension bridge and the highest railway bridge in Central Europe, where those with strong nerves can try a bungee jump from 96 metres up.
But cyclists with strong calves can push their pulse to its limit on the 912 kilometres of mountain bike and trekking tours, with a difference in altitude of 20,000 metres, and easily cross the border into Slovenia on signposted tours or through a former mine shaft.
TIP: If you enjoy cycling in company, try taking part in the free sports programme: Every Tuesday here there is an easy cycle tour to Lake Turnersee and Sablatnig Moor (start 09.00), every Thursday a difficult mountain bike tour (800 metres difference in altitude, 60 kilometres; start: 09.00) and every Friday afternoon (15.00) a pleasure cycling tour stopping off at a farmhouse pub.
